Accounting Technician
Blue Mountain Power Co-op is currently seeking a hardworking and organized individual who can multi-task and who has a happy ‘can-do and will-do’ attitude!
This position will work in the Accounting and Billings Department helping with the day-to-day administrative work required for a utility powerline co-operative.
Our focus and priority is serving our Members and it needs to be yours as well.
Requirements for this position:
- Accounting experience with bank reconciliations and accounts receivable;
- Skilled with all Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word;
- Detail-oriented and demonstrated competency in analysis, process improvement and problem-solving;
- Energetic, fast-learner who demonstrates curiosity and a desire for continuous improvement;
- Enjoy dealing with general public (membership) in person and on the phone;
- Commitment to excellent customer service;
- Able to work efficiently independently or in a team environment;
- Punctual and reliable;
- Excellent level of oral communication skills;
- Able to meet strict deadlines.
Job Description:
- Monthly bank reconciliations;
- Draft all invoices for new services, work orders, rebills, etc;
- Process all payments into accounting system;
- Reconcile monthly member utility billings listing to accounting system;
- Produce collections letters, and coordinate payments/payment plans;
- Complete quarterly GST return;
- Provide cross coverage for accounts payable;
- Embrace contributing to team success in a variety of functions.
