Blue Mountain Power Co-op offers several ways to help you mitigate the costs of building a new power service or modifying existing infrastructure.

AFREA

Rural Electric Grant Program

The Rural Electric Program Grant is available to all Alberta producers who are actively farming and where power services are being used in conjunction with their farming operation. This grant is provided by the Government of Alberta and administered by the Federation of Rural Electrification Associations (AFREA). Blue Mountain Power Co-op will assist you in applying for this grant when you build a new power service with us.

Application basics:

  • Runs from April 1 to March 31 each year
  • Application approval is subject to the availability of funds
  • Eligible producers must complete an application
  • Application must be completed within one year of construction completion
