Blue Mountain Power Co-op offers several ways to help you mitigate the costs of building a new power service or modifying existing infrastructure.

AFREA

Rural Electric Grant Program

The Rural Electric Program Grant is available to all Alberta producers who are actively farming and where power services are being used in conjunction with their farming operation. This grant is provided by the Government of Alberta and administered by the Federation of Rural Electrification Associations (AFREA). Blue Mountain Power Co-op will assist you in applying for this grant when you build a new power service with us.

Application basics:

  • Runs from April 1 to March 31 each year
  • Application approval is subject to the availability of funds
  • Eligible producers must complete an application
  • Application must be completed within one year of construction completion

Blue Mountain Power Co-op realizes that building a new power service can be expensive. To assist you in setting up power to a new location or extending an existing power service, we have partnered with the Rocky Credit Union to offer a range of loan options to help our members manage their power service projects.

Along with personal and business financing options, Rocky Credit Union offers agriculture loans and lines of credit at competitive rates with flexible payment options to match farm cash flow.
