Earl has been a member of Blue Mountain Power Co-op's Board of Directors since 2005.

• Clearwater County Councillor for 13 years
• 12 community boards as Clearwater County Councillor
• Director of Alberta Association Municipal Districts and Counties, District 2
• Chair for the Caroline Volunteer Ambulance Board
• Chair for the Caroline Museum Board
• Vice-Chair for the Caroline Chamber of Commerce Board
• Volunteer for the Caroline Ag Society for 20 years
• Natural Resources Conservation Board of Alberta

Earl and his wife, Joy, have owned several businesses including a car & truck wash as well as various retail, hardware and clothing operations.
